The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands Celebrates 65 Years of Strengthening Business Ties

This year, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands proudly celebrates its 65th anniversary—a significant milestone reflecting six decades of fostering business connections, collaborations, and friendships between Sweden and the Netherlands.


“For 65 years, the Swedish Chamber has served as a unique networking platform, enabling countless business opportunities and relationships to flourish,” says Kerstin Gerlagh, CEO of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands. “We have had the privilege of welcoming renowned Swedish brands into the Dutch market while also supporting Dutch companies in their journey to Sweden. State of Dutch Tech

The State of Dutch Tech is Techleap’s flagship event, bringing together tech leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors to shape the future of Dutch and European tech. It’s a catalyst for impactful conversations and concrete decisions that drive change where it’s needed most. 

At the heart of the event is the unveiling of the State of Dutch Tech report, a data-driven overview of the Dutch tech ecosystem. The Swedish Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the recipient of the first-ever Swedish Chamber Sustainability Scholarship – Powered by Saab 2025. This prestigious scholarship has been awarded to Lotte Nijhof, student at TU Delft and Universiteit Leiden, to support her thesis in the field of recycling and circularity of EV batteries.

The Sustainability Committee drives the sustainability agenda alongside the Swedish Chamber, aiming to unite experts and business leaders, promote knowledge exchange, and foster new business connections between Sweden and the Netherlands with a focus on ambitious sustainability strategies.

Scania and DHL to test electric truck with

Welcome new member: nlmtd

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome nlmtd as a new member. Located in the Edge Olympic building—home to many of our Chamber events—nlmtd is an Impact Consultancy and a certified B Corp, dedicated to driving critical transitions in energy, sustainability, travel, and transport. Their expertise and network will be a valuable addition to our community.


On March 13, nlmtd will host its annual CREATE THE FUTURE event at WTC Amsterdam Zuid, focusing on the energy transition and the power of ecosystem collaboration to tackle today’s challenges. As part of their membership, a limited number of tickets have been made available to Swedish Chamber members for this invite-only event.

On Tuesday, March 4, it's time for fettisdagen – a beloved Swedish tradition celebrating the iconic semla. This cardamom-flavored wheat bun filled with almond paste and whipped cream has become a season favorite all over Sweden.

   
   
   

Swedish culinary traditions – live cooking workshops

The Swedish Chamber of Commerce is pleased to highlight Northern Deligth and its upcoming Swedish Cuisine Cooking Workshops, offering an opportunity to explore authentic Swedish flavours in a hands-on setting.


On March 8, the focus shifts to the Swedish kafferep tradition, featuring cinnamon buns, cake, and seven types of cookies.


For those looking for a broader experience, the March 16 workshop will showcase classic Swedish dishes, concluding with a buffet. Later in the year, on October 11, an outdoor cooking session at Basecamp Norway in Hummelo will offer a Scandinavian open-fire dining experience.


With limited availability, these workshops provide a unique opportunity to engage with Swedish culinary heritage.
