The Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands, the Embassy of Sweden, and Business Sweden are proud to present three Swedish Chamber Business Awards for 2024:
- Swedish Chamber Achievement Award 2024
- Swedish Chamber Entrepreneurship Award 2024
- Swedish Chamber Tech for Good Award 2024
The Annual Swedish Business Awards were launched in 2010 in collaboration with the Swedish Chamber of Commerce for the Netherlands, the Swedish Embassy, and Business Sweden under the name The Swedish Chamber Export Prize. Swedish companies successfully established in the Dutch market can apply for the Business Awards.
The Award Ceremony 2024 will take place at the Swedish Chamber's Exclusive Annual Dinner on December 6, 2024, at the Hilton Hotel Amsterdam. The Annual Dinner is preceded by the Swedish Chamber Sustainability & Innovation Summit, “AI Driving Sustainable Transformation,” in the afternoon. This exclusive programme offers excellent opportunities for the award-winning companies to present themselves and meet the extensive Swedish-Dutch business network in the Netherlands.

On September 19, the Swedish Government presented the Budget Bill for 2025 to the Riksdag, marking a shift from combating inflation to investing in a more flourishing and secure Sweden.
Minister for Finance Elisabeth Svantesson highlighted reforms totalling SEK 60 billion, aimed at strengthening household purchasing power and boosting long-term growth. While the fight against inflation has been won, challenges remain as the economy faces rising costs and stagnation.
The Government's focus on these reforms is essential for ensuring a safer future for all Swedes. | | UPDATE DUTCH POLITICS: Budget Day | On September 17, the Dutch government presented the Budget and announced its plans for 2025. Key initiatives include tax cuts for small businesses, major investments in housing and infrastructure, and a commitment to sustainability. Key points of Prime Minister Dick Schoof's government plans: - Boosting purchasing power by reducing taxes for middle-income and vulnerable groups, and keeping energy bills affordable.
- Supporting innovation with tax relief for SMEs and investment in R&D to enhance competitiveness.

Among the key appointments, former Migration Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard has been named the new Minister for Foreign Affairs, while Benjamin Dousa has been appointed as Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade. | | Margaretha Törnqvist wins Johannes Vermeer Prize 2024 | The Johannes Vermeer Prize 2024 has been awarded to illustrator and children's book author Marit Törnqvist. The jury praised her ability to convey universal emotions through her art.
This is the first time the award has recognised an artist focused on children's literature.
