Annual Patron Dinner

As November’s darkness settled over The Hague, it once again signalled the moment for the Annual Patron Dinner at the beautiful Residence of the Swedish Ambassador —

a setting that never fails to feel both warm and distinguished. The evening gathered our Patron Members to hear Ambassador Julius Liljeström and his wife, Madeleine Hägg Liljeström, share candid reflections from their first months in The Hague. Their insights — spanning everyday impressions to the broader economic and (geo)political outlook towards 2026 — added a thoughtful and genuinely personal dimension to the evening.

We extend our warm thanks to the Ambassador and Mrs Hägg Liljeström for their outstanding hospitality, the beautifully composed five-course dinner, and the opportunity to exchange ideas in such an exceptional setting. The atmosphere they created made the night both memorable and professionally meaningful.

Atomico Report:

State of European Tech 25

Atomico, founded by Niklas Zennström — the visionary behind Skype — is among Europe’s largest investors and maintains a firm conviction in the region’s capacity for continued growth and innovation.

Europe’s tech ecosystem is at a turning point. Its workforce has reached 4.6 million - growing faster than in the US - over 27,000 new startups were launched this year alone.

But challenges remain - late-stage funding is scarce, markets are fragmented, and founders are going abroad.

Despite this, Europe is making waves in AI, deep tech, climate innovation, and trusted technology.
