Swedish Institute 2025: Results Strengthening Sweden’s Global Impact  

The Swedish Institute (SI) is responsible for the coordinated promotion of Sweden abroad. In 2025, they reached nearly 170 million people through their international communication efforts.

 

Those of our members who visited Brand Sweden event in October is familiar with the government-commissioned Strategy for a Stronger Image of Sweden to support Swedish actors in communicating Sweden’s strengths in a clear and coordinated way. SI also intensified its work to attract international talent through Team Sweden Talent Attraction and supported more than 300 SMEs within Sweden’s cultural and creative industries in expanding their international presence. 

   
   

Swedish Pavilion at 

PLMA Amsterdam 2026  

PLMA, Europe’s largest private label fair, takes place every May and attracts around 3,000 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors. Exhibiting offers a chance to showcase your products to international buyers and distributors.


For over 15 years, Business Sweden has gathered export-ready Swedish companies in the “Try Swedish” pavilion. Due to high demand, the pavilion is larger than ever before. Over 20 Swedish companies will be present at this key food industry event.


The fair takes place on 19-20 May, 2026 at RAI Amsterdam.

AstraZeneca - Top 10 

Women in Leadership

Swedish Chamber Patron Member AstraZeneca is being recognised in the FTSE Women Leaders Review 2025 report for having one of the highest representations of women in leadership.

Capgemini Join Forces with OpenAI

Swedish Chamber Patron Member Capgemini has partnered with OpenAI as a founding member of the OpenAI Frontier Alliance to accelerate enterprise AI adoption. Key insights into the circular management of solar panels in Sweden

A new report from CircSolar’s Sol–Vind Policy Innovation Lab, led by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden in collaboration with Chalmers Industriteknik, highlights key insights on circular management of solar panels in Sweden – covering future material flows, waste volumes, recycling technologies, and extended producer responsibility.


Key findings include:
- End-of-life solar panels are a largely untapped resource with high circular potential.

- The main obstacles are unclear value chains, responsibilities, and data—not technology.

- Leveraging existing regulations and fostering collaboration are more effective than new legislation.

Statement of Foreign 

Policy 2026

On 18 February, Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard presented the 2026 Statement of Foreign Policy in the Riksdag.


“We have chosen to protect the security of Sweden and the Swedish people. Sweden’s NATO membership makes our country more secure. We do not stand alone in troubled times,” - Ms Malmer Stenergard.


The Government’s principal foreign policy objectives are supporting Ukraine, intensifying pressure on Russia, enhancing collaboration in security and trade, and advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women.
