SWEA's World Meeting: October 3-6 in Amsterdam

From 3-6 October, SWEA is organizing an exciting World Meeting in Amsterdam where Sweas from all corners of the globe will share their ideas and inspire each other. This year is SWEA’s 45th anniversary. It will be celebrated on the World Meeting Day on 4 October with lectures by two keynote speakers: Camilla van den Boom and Tina Thörner. 


SWEA is a non-profit organization and a global network for Swedish-speaking women who live, or have lived abroad. SWEA actively promotes the Swedish language, culture and traditions and has around 6,000 members in some 70 chapters in 30 countries on 5 continents. One of the chapters is SWEA Holland. Top Cities for Cleanest Air in Europe: Uppsala and Umeå

The Alliance for Clean Air, a partnership between the World Economic Forum and Clean Air Fund, brings together leaders in the private sector to reduce pollution and work with policy-makers and peers to champion the benefits of clean air. 


According to the latest European City Air Quality Reviewer the Swedish cities Uppsala and Umeå are ranked number 1 and 2 on the list for the cleanest air in Europe. Only 13 cities in the entire European Economic Area have safe air pollution levels according to the review.





   
   
   
   

Record Number of Female Executive Appointments

This year has seen a breakthrough for women in executive roles, with 32% of new appointments going to women—a significant leap from last year's 13% 

according to The annual Female Board Index 2024. 


While female representation in supervisory boards has already surpassed legal quotas, the rise in female executives signals promising progress Arcadis stands out with impressive gender balance across its boards, while ongoing efforts are set to further enhance representation across the industry.

On September 1, 2024 SAS has officially joined the SkyTeam global airline alliance, marking a major milestone for the airline and elevating SkyTeam’s global network to new heights.

Captains CEO Jop Goslinga sees this as a game-changer for Dutch documentary filmmaking, tapping into the nation's strong heritage of realism and entrepreneurship.
