Dutch economic contraction according to the latest report from CSB

According to the first quarterly estimate conducted by Statistics Netherlands (CBS), in Q2 2023 the volume of gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 0.3 percent relative to the previous quarter. In Q1 2023, GDP fell by 0.4 percent. The contraction in Q2 is mainly due to a decrease in the trade balance and in household consumption.

Swedish Chamber member Intrum publish European Payment Report 2023

The Intrum report is based on a survey that was conducted simultaneously in 29 European countries between the end of November 2022 and March 2023. The European Payment Report 2023 paints a picture of how inflation and rising interest rates are continuing to squeeze European businesses, putting liquidity and credit management in the spotlight.


Key findings:

  • Inflation hits revenues and growth
  • Businesses must learn how to break the late-payments loop
  • Chasing payments is costing Europe a quarter of a trillion euros a year
